Why should I be pro Israel? Here are a few reasons:

The Jewish people of Israel first came into the land in 2000 BC.

On the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying:
“To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates— 19 the Kenites, the Kenezzites, the Kadmonites, 20 the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Rephaim, 21 the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.” Genesis 15:18-21

God tells us in the Bible to support Israel. Here are a few places in the Bible that refer to His directive.

God blesses those who support Israel.

God says in Genesis 12:3: “I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May they prosper who love you. Psalm 122:6

God curses those who go against Israel.

In Isaiah 60:12, the bible warns us that “the nation and kingdom which will not serve you shall perish, and those nations shall be utterly ruined.”

Also the Lord your God will put all these curses on your enemies and on those who hate you, who persecuted you.” (Deuteronomy 30:7)

The US has been blessed because of Israel.

Through Israel, the promises and covenants were given. Through them came the law, the prophets, and the Messiah who has opened up access to God for all, and through the Jewish apostles, the gospel first went to the nations. (Romans 9:4-5)

God’s promise to bring the Jews back to their land has been fulfilled.

“‘I will restore the fortunes of my people Israel, and they shall rebuild and inhabit the ruined cities;…I will plant them upon their land and they shall never again be plucked up out of the land which I have given them.’ says the Lord your God.” (Amos 8:14-15). “I will take the people of Israel from the nations among which they have gone, and will gather them from all sides and bring them to their land; and I will make them one nation in the land, upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king over them all.” (Ezekiel 37:21-22)

God calls us to help Israel.

In Isaiah Chapter 40 God speaks: “Comfort, comfort my people says your God. Speak tenderly to Jerusalem and cry to her that her warfare is ended, that her iniquity is pardoned, that she has received from the Lord’s hand double for all her sins.” (Isaiah 40:1-2)

Christians are called to comfort the Jewish people.

The leaders of the nations are prophesied and called to help the nation of Israel: “Thus says the Lord God: ‘Behold I will lift up my hand to the nations, and raise my signal to the peoples; and they shall bring your sons in their bosom, and your daughters shall be carried on their shoulders. Kings shall be your foster fathers and their queens your nursing mothers.’” (Isaiah 49:22-23)

Gentiles don’t need to become Jews to be saved, just as Jews don’t need to become Gentiles to be saved. However, God used the Jews to spread the gospel to the Gentiles, and He expects the Gentiles, in return, to provoke the Jews to jealousy (Romans 11:11) by setting a good example, not by hating them. Antisemites bring nothing but shame upon the name of God when they claim to believe in Him.

God Will Protect Israel

“For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place.” (Esther 4:14)

“And it will come to pass at the same time, when Gog comes against the land of Israel,” says the Lord God, “that My fury will show in My face.” “Thus I will magnify Myself and sanctify Myself, and I will be known in the eyes of many nations. Then they shall know that I am the Lord.” (Ezekiel 38:18,23)

“For indeed, those who are far from You shall perish; You have destroyed all those who desert You for harlotry. But it is good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all Your works.” (Psalm 73:27-28)

It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. (Psalm 118:8)

Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore. (Psalm 121:7-8)

“for the Lord your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.” (Deuteronomy 20:4)

Do not keep silent, O God! Do not hold Your peace, and do not be still, O God! For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; and those who hate You have lifted up their head. They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, and consulted together against Your sheltered ones. They have said, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, that the name of Israel may be remembered no more.” (Psalm 83:1-4)

Remember the former things of old, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure.’” (Isaiah 46:9-10)

“If it had not been the Lord who was on our side,”Let Israel now say— “If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us, then they would have swallowed us alive, when their wrath was kindled against us” (Psalm 124:1-3)

For God will save Zion and build the cities of Judah, that they may dwell there and possess it. Also, the descendants of His servants shall inherit it, and those who love His name shall dwell in it. (Psalm 69:35-36)

Look among the nations and watch— be utterly astounded! For I will work a work in your days which you would not believe, though it were told you.” (Habakkuk 1:5)

“You will arise and have mercy on Zion; for the time to favor her, yes, the set time, has come.” (Psalm 102:13)
